An Dúlamán Santa Ana Martinez

The Martinez first appeared as a variation on a Manhattan in an 1884 cocktail book. It became a popular cocktail in its own right from 1887 when it appeared in celebrated bartender Jerry Thomas' Bartenders Guide.

At first glance it's a sweet martini, but the dryness of the maraschino liqueur and bitters creates a perfectly balanced cocktail.

Ingredients for a An Dúlamán Martinez

  • 30ml An Dúlamán Santa Ana gin
  • 60ml Sweet Vermouth
  • 7.5ml Dry Vermouth
  • 7.5ml Maraschino liqueur
  • 2 dashes of bitters
  • Luxardo Cherry to garnish

How to make a Martinez

  • Shake all the ingredients together until chilled
  • Strain into your glass
  • Garnish with the cherry
