You'll like this if:

You're after a history lesson in gin...that you can drink your way through! Our History of Gin Through the Ages Tasting Set will introduce you to five very different gins and weave in how they have contributed to the evolution of the industry.

The gins featured in this tasting set are all unique in their own way. Of course, the eagle eyed amongst you will spot the Beefeater Gin in the line up. It's nestled amongst four small batch producers so what is it doing there we hear you ask? Well, the answer to that lies in the tasting set itself so you'll have to tune in to find out.

Outside of the Beefeater Gin however, we've got some very unique gins in this tasting set, most of which you will not find in 50ml bottles anywhere else. There's an Old Tom Gin that incorporates tea in its composition. Then, there's a gin rested in Pinot Noir wine barrels, which takes gin barrel aging to new heights.

To round things off, we've got a wonderfully complex sloe gin from Tasmania. And let's not forget the aptly called Seaside Strength Gin from Brighton Distillery (in the UK that is, not Australia).

But how do these gins demonstrate a timeline in gin production and drinking? Well, unlike other gin tasting sets, we've curated the lineup so it tells a story. You also get a booklet with this information. So, as you drink your way through the samples, you will learn about:

  • The history of gin
  • How gin was drunk
  • The origins behind some of your favourite gin phrases
  • How tastes in gin have changed

Not only that, we've included a mixer with each gin so there is enough to taste and to make a drink with each. You get recipe cards in the tasting set with suggested pairing and drinking options too.  All in all, you'll have enough to make around 5-6 standard drinks!
