You'll like this if:
You like a juniper forward gin combined with the scents of the Australian mountains. Applewood Distillery Alpine Gin is a classic gin packed with juniper but with slightly earthy hints.
Vibrant and resinous, the native citrus compliments the rich juniper while the sweet spice notes create a warm and lengthy finish. Additionally, you get notes of waxy petrichor, which contributes to the Australian mountain air feel when you nose this gin. What is petrichor you ask? It's that pleasant earthy smell when rain hits dry soil so you can see how Applewood Distillery have called this a celebration of the Australian mountainscape rarefied air.
Overall though, the gin has well-integrated flavours and a very smooth mouthfeel. Owners distillers Brendan and Laura Carter have a well deserved reputation for being able to craft balanced gins using native Australian botanicals and this is no exception.

How to drink Applewood Distillery Alpine Gin:
We like to drink Alpine gin as a long drink, either as a Tom Collins or with tonic. Fever-Tree Aromatic tonic works well as the hint of bitterness brings out the juniper. Applewood Distillery recommend making a classic French 75 cocktail. Who are we to argue!
