You'll like this gin if:
You're a fan of citrus but with a savoury twist. The Big Tree Grapefruit Olive Leaf & Rosemary Gin is NOT your conventional citrus-forward gin.
It is no secret that Caroline is a big fan of grapefruit and rosemary as garnishes in her G&Ts. If you are too, this gin will not disappoint. In fact, Caroline loved it so much, it featured in the Gin Queen's Top 10 Australian Gins of 2022.
With home-grown olive leaf and rosemary in the mix with grapefruit sourced from neighbours, the latter two add a herbaceous note that elevates the gin to something more interesting. You still get the zesty zing of grapefruit, with the slight bitterness of its pith complementing the pine notes of juniper well. However, this is tempered by the signature sharpness of rosemary that comes through on the palate.
The genesis for this gin came from a request from the Friends of The Royal Botanical Gardens Melbourne. Made in celebration of their 40th anniversary, this Mediterranean style gin is designed to welcome in the Spring and Summer season. One sip and you'll see what we mean.
