You'll like this if:
You like your gin with bold umami flavours, but with a touch of floral and candied sweetness.
This is the barrel aged AND navy strength version of the An Dúlamán gin. Imagine the original, but on steroids in terms of flavours. The rich umami, briney and buttery oyster finish of the original is undercut by a certain floral aroma and a tinge of sweet candied peel and berry that comes from the gin being aged in Rioja wine casks. The aging also gives the gin a beautiful rose gold hue.
Ireland's first navy strength gin on the market, this is named after the La Duquesa Santa Ana, a formidable Andalusian ship which was lost off Loughros Mor, Ardara, in Philip II’s ill-fated Spanish Armada’s attempt to invade England in 1588.
